But so far the focus had been mainly on women. So striking was the renowned American brand that Target has included a male-size model in its latest catalog.
His name is Zach Miko, 26 and just over two meters tall. "I never understood why to sell large clothing show you some very muscular types. They will not buy XXL shirts or pants size 42, but they are the model"said Zach People magazine.
It is the first time working as a model. Zach is really an actor, but his agent saw a Facebook post in which it was said that the Target brand sought a man of great stature to its catalog. An e-mail later, Zach was doing some test shots.
Although Zach enjoyed the experience, he acknowledges that it was not so simple. "It's supposed to have XL and XXL shirts, but there were only medium that did not fit me . The stylist had to cut , like a hospital gown to fit me" he adds.
Zach said modeling helped to improve their self-esteem . "I've struggled with my self-esteem and body image all my life . I have never considered attractive. As a man, often you do not want to admit that you're not comfortable with your body, because it is not very masculine, but it's something we all struggle with."
"Now I feel good as I am, but I would never have had the confidence to model not for my wife. She has made me feel sexy and confident in how I look."
With these pictures, Zach wants to send a message to all the people who are wrong with your body . "Why not now? Why you can not feel attractive as lights today? Sure, it's great exercise, a healthier and more active, but that does not mean it's wrong as lights now or you're not attractive .
"Our perception of beauty is so small that only see one thing. We need to see every body types and discover that we are all beautiful".
